The prolonged clinical aftermath of SARS-CoV-2 infection, termed post-COVID syndrome or Long COVID, is now recognised as a major health challenge confronting both clinicians and health systems worldwide. Fatigue, myalgia, dyspnoea, cognitive difficulty, and sleep disruption are among the most frequently reported complaints, often persisting well beyond three months from the initial acute episode [1]. Post-COVID nutritional deficiency is a real clinical problem that does not get enough attention in recovery protocols. Many patients who survive SARS-CoV-2 infection are left with depleted micronutrient stores — the result of poor appetite during illness, gut inflammation, and the metabolic demands of fighting a serious infection. Compound micronutrient tablets address several deficiencies at once rather than one at a time. This review looks at eight specific nutrients and asks three questions for each: how common is deficiency in post-COVID patients, what biological mechanisms make correction worthwhile, and what does the human trial evidence actually show. Individual micronutrients—Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc, Selenium, the B-vitamin complex, Magnesium, Iron, and omega-3 fatty acids—are examined in terms of their documented deficiency patterns, mechanistic contributions to recovery, and the quality of human clinical evidence supporting supplementation. Formulation science, drug-nutrient interactions, safety boundaries, and directions for future trial design are also addressed. What it does support is thoughtful, supervised use of compound micronutrient preparations alongside standard rehabilitation — provided the formulation is appropriate and the clinical context is properly assessed.
