Primary Health Care (PHC) is a cornerstone of modern health systems, providing comprehensive, continuous, and people-centered services for prevention, diagnosis, and ongoing care at the community level. In the context of breast cancer, PHC plays a pivotal role in early detection through organized screening programs and health education initiatives. Systematic information and education of women contribute to reducing mortality and enhancing the quality of life. This article examines the structure and core principles of PHC, the roles of family doctors and interdisciplinary health teams, and the institutional framework and reforms implemented in Greece. Finally, it underscores the importance of strengthening PHC as a strategic instrument for the effective prevention and management of breast cancer, with particular emphasis on reducing inequalities and improving population health outcomes.
