Anxiety is a feeling of fear tension or worry that occurs as a response to real or perceived threats. Anxiety is a common emotional response characterized by feelings of tension, worry, and nervousness, often accompanied by physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, restlessness, and difficulty concentrating. In this cross-sectional study, objective was to study the relationship between anxiety and its contributing factors. The study included 310 participants which included 180 female and 130 males. The participants were in the age group of 10-24. The study was carried out at different schools and colleges in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. The data was collected using predesigned questionnaire. In this study we were able to find out the influence of family, lifestyle, academics and social life on anxiety. Significant associations were observed between anxiety severity and factors such as academic pressure, poor sleep, low social and familial support. A positive correlation was found between anxiety and meal skipping, caffeine intake, lack of physical activity, junk food consumption and increased social media usage.
