Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is a fruit rich in bioactive compounds. This abstract discusses the methods for extracting, separating, and evaluating these compounds. Extraction methods include solvent extraction and maceration, with ethanol and water being common solvents. Separation techniques involve chromatography, such as HPLC and thin-layer chromatography, to isolate specific compounds like ascorbic acid and polyphenols. Evaluation methods assess the purity and quantity of the extracted compounds, often using spectrophotometry and other analytical techniques to determine their antioxidant activity and other beneficial properties.
The extraction of bioactive compounds from amla involves several methods. Solvent extraction is a common approach, using solvents like ethanol or water to dissolve and extract the desired compounds.
